Vinyasa Yoga:
A perfect combination of power and peace--our Vinyasa classes honor the individual body while tapping into universal yoga energy. We move through several different variations of the Sun Salutations to stimulate the systems and muscles of the body, while using the drishti (gaze) and the breath to create a powerful moving meditation. Our vinyasa classes can be rigorous, but we always encourage rest and respect for your body's needs, allowing you to find comfort in the movement, thus "pushing" yourself rather than being pushed. Vinyasa yoga will literally transform your life--you will sleep better, eat better and feel better 24 hours a day!
Prenatal Yoga:
The pregnant body goes through incredible changes over 9 months. Sarah's prenatal yoga classes are an uplifting, safe, fun experience for any mom-to-be while she goes through this amazing time. Prenatal yoga will help you keep energy levels up and stress down. Classes are small, intimate, semi-privates which will provide you a place to bond with other moms, and a way to connect with your growing baby! The yogic breathing, movement, and chanting provide consciousness, preparing you for labor, delivery and the miracle of motherhood. Dads and partners are welcome too--Sarah will teach him/her how to support Mom, share the yoga experience and do some partnered work and basic massage.
Hot Yoga:
Based on the Bikram and Baron Baptiste styles of yoga, our hot yoga class guides you to your bliss with lots of sweat, stretching, core work, strengthening, and breathwork. The external heat combines with the internal, allowing your body to open up and purify like never before. Flor Yoga Fitness' Hot yoga classes all start with flow and move into a beautiful series of static, balancing, and floor poses that will leave you feeling stretched, refreshed and relaxed !
Mat Pilates:
Mat Pilates classes give you power, flexibility, and amazing abdominal strength. These classes target your abs, back and legs, making your core strong and and your limbs flexible, without building unnecessary bulk! You will feel taller and lighter all at once as your core builds, your posture improves 100%. Pilates is a great complement to any exercise routine as it simultaneously lengthens AND strengthens muscles which keeps your joints healthy and happy!
Restorative Yoga:
Sometimes, you just have to slow down and give yourself the gift of relaxation. Flor's Restorative yoga is truly a transcendent experience, lifting you out of your day-to-day doldrums and up into bliss. Join us for these 90 minute classes and 2 hour workshops and you will feel completely renewed and ready to LIVE again. Part yoga, part Thai yoga, and part meditation, our Restorative yoga clears your mind, relaxes your body and gets rid of all the kinks. With a consistent Restorative yoga practice, you can stay healthy, be happy and live your fullest life.
Yogalates:
Yogalates offers the benefits of both practices, strengthening the core with mat pilates and improving flexibility, posture and endurance through vinyasa yoga. Creating a strong core leads to a safer and more enjoyable yoga practice. This class will address the major muscle groups while using the breath to stay centered. Graceful, yet strong vinyasas will be used to flow from each yoga pose to the next sequence of pilates exercises. After a yogalates session you will feel healthy, refreshed and strengthened resulting in a state of inner peace and well being. Great for all levels.
Live Music Yoga Workshops:
An exciting and inspiring two-and-a-half hour workshop with live music played by professional musicians who also practice yoga. In a longer format you have the chance to explore a wider range of poses with a detailed emphasis on alignment. Together we explore breathwork (pranayama) and meditation. Tomas provides live music accompaniment, playing off the energy in the room. Class ends with a peaceful long savasana and a brief q and a session.
